Jey Uso Comments on Belief WWE Is An “Easier Hustle” Than It Used To Be & Reason For Him Getting Quickly Blown Up During Matches
A recent episode of the What Do You Wanna Talk About? with Cody Rhodes podcast featured Jey Uso as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Uso’s thoughts about his belief that WWE and the wrestling industry is an easier hustle than it used to be for past generations of wrestlers.
“Just being a wrestler now, and I know today it’s an easier hustle. And I’m not saying that — this sh*t’s still hard. Being a wrestler, this life is hard. I think when my dad was coming up though, man, he went through the wringer. He’s still alive today. He’s healthy. I know like a lot of people, they’re up next. Everyone’s getting older. Our parents are getting older. We’re getting older, you know. My dad is our biggest fan, though. I cannot lie about that.”
Host Cody Rhodes responded in agreement to Uso’s comments about how certain aspects of the wrestling industry are easier now for wrestlers compared to the past.
“It’s certainly not the bumping each night and the lighter envelopes, because the money and economy was different for wrestling then. But I mean, I watch you walk in here with someone from talent relations telling you what you need to do next and where you need to go. And what was house shows has been replaced by a lot of other things that are equal in an opportunity standpoint. There’s something of value to them. There’s something special. It’s just different. Like, we’re navigating a new hustle.”
Uso also gave his thoughts about him getting quickly tired or blown up during his matches and the reason for it.
“Aye, that (WWE) Unreal stuff popped me though because when I watched it — I miss a rope. Damn, I blew up. Hit the damn top rope. Look, look, I’ll say it, hell yeah I be tired. Damn, we only wrestle one time out the week. I had to get my stamina up but you know, damn, it happens.”

Paul Heyman Comments on His Belief Seth Rollins Doesn’t Need to Change His Ring Style To Avoid Injuries
As noted before, Seth Rollins has been out of action for WWE since this past October’s Crown Jewel: Perth event due to a torn rotator cuff injury and surgery.
SHAK Wrestling held a recent interview with Paul Heyman. One of the topics discussed included Heyman’s thoughts about his belief that Rollins does not need to change his ring style to avoid future injuries.
“No. He’s balls to the wall. I once heard someone describe Bon Scott, who was the original lead singer for ACDC. in that Bon Scott sung every single note as if it were to be his last, and Seth Rollins wrestles every single match as if it were to be his last. He truly leaves it all in the ring, and if I were to sit here and say, well, he needs to adopt a safer style. Well, he needs to be cognizant to the fact that he’s lost more time to injury than he would have liked, then I’m asking him to scale back. Then I’m asking him to do less. Then I’m asking him not to employ the type of style that has made him Seth freakin’ Rollins. When you see Seth Rollins, it’s something special because you never know if it’s his last match because he’s willing to wrestle as if it is.”
