Finlay gave an emotional farewell to the crowd at NJPW’s The New Beginning in Osaka 2026 event earlier this month. WWE has been interested in signing Finlay to a potential contract once he becomes available.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated there has been contact between Finlay and WWE but he is not currently “factored in to creative plans” at the moment within WWE.

It was reported that the current status of the talks between Finlay and WWE is currently not known.

It was also reported that NJPW is actively trying to re-sign Finlay to keep him in their company.
