Original El Grande Americano Attacks El Grande Americano & Steals Rey de Reyes Sword

Saturday’s taped AAA Rey de Reyes 2026 Week 2 show featured El Grande Americano making a surprise appearance and attacked Original El Grande Americano and stealing his Rey de Reyes sword.

During the show, AAA executives Marisella Pena and Dorian Roldan came out to the ring, followed by notable previous Rey de Reyes tournament winners Chessman, Texano Jr., and Cibernetico. El Grande Americano came out next to be presented the Rey de Reyes sword for winning this year’s tournament.

El Grande Americano gave a speech thanking the crowd for their support and the legends in the ring with him. El Grande continued thanking Marisella and the Pena family and stated that it is an honor to represent AAA. After some more words, El Grande stated that the pride of Mexico isn’t about the color of your skin, it’s about the culture and people who are from all over the world.

This led to AA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio’s music playing to interrupt and came out to the ring. Everyone except El Grande left the ring leaving the two alone. Mysertio proceeded to shake El Grande’s hand and stated that he wanted to congratulate him for winning the Rey de Reyes. Mysterio then asked El Grande if he wanted to take his shot at the AAA Mega title right now. This led to a brawl breaking out involving Original El Grande Americano running out and atacking El Grande from behind. Mysterio quickly escaped as Original El Grande continued his attack on El Grande that spilled to the outside.

Original El Grande then attempted to take off El Grande’s mask only to be stopped by Los Americanos’ Ray & Bravo Americano who ran out and chased Original El Grande away. Original El Grande ran back into the ring and stole El Grande’s Rey de Reyes ceremonial sword and went out of the ring and stood on the announcer’s table posing with the sword as the show went to a close.

Saturday’s taped AAA Rey de Reyes 2026 Week 2 event also featured two new matches and one new segment announced for the card of next week’s Week 3 event on March 28th on FOX Latin America and WWE and AAA’s YouTube channels.
