Swerve Strickland Comments on Kenny Omega Was Right Person To Execute His Heel Turn
Bleeding Cool News held a recent interview with Swerve Strickland. One of the topics discussed was Strickland’s thoughts about his recent heel turn and Kenny Omega being the right person for his much needed character’s shift.
“It was needed, and it was needed with the right person at the right time with Kenny Omega. There’s no more of a lightning rod of attention in AEW to get than Kenny Omega. Everybody’s always interested in what Kenny is doing when he’s on screen, when he’s active, and he’s very much healthy and at his best. There’s no more of a top performer in the industry than Kenny Omega. So going over 25 minutes with him in the main event, taking him out at the end the way that I did, it sparked a lot of noise throughout the industry. It sparked a lot of noise throughout AEW. That also woke up Nana in a lot of ways. In a lot of different ways, I’m able to navigate and move through AEW the way that I want to. The way I’m meant to, I would say.”
Skye Blue Comments on Her & Triangle of Madness Is Ready To Step Up in “Timeless” Toni Storm’s Abscense
Soundsphere Magazine held a recent interview with Skye Blue. One of the topics discussed included Blue’s thoughts about “Timeless” Toni Storm’s current abscense from AEW and how she and her Triangle of Madness faction is ready to step up and fill that void.
“I definitely would love to step up. I’ve wrestled Toni so many times, I absolutely love wrestling that woman. I feel like since she came to AEW, I’ve learned so much from her. Just being able to pick her brain about wrestling – every time I get in the ring with her, I feel like I’ve learned something about wrestling, so there are big shoes to fill. But I think all three of us are ready to step up and show that we are dominant players in the women’s division and we’re ready to push forward and show them.”
The Butcher Comments on His Current AEW Abscense
The Butcher has been noticeably absent from AEW since February of 2025. During his abscense, The Butcher’s tag team partner The Blade had been recovering from spinal fusion surgery in early 2024. The Butcher and The Blade had reunited as a team at an indie event this past December.
Youngstown Studio held a recent interview with The Butcher. One of the topics discussed included The Butcher stating that he is still under contract with AEW and gave his thoughts about one big reason for his current abscense from AEW was due to his tag partner The Blade being out with back issues. The Butcher also gave his thoughts about how he and The Blade are now just waiting for the call to come back to AEW.
“[I’m] still under contract. That was the big thing, Blade had his back fused. So, as a tag team wrestler, it’s like, how many times can you send a guy out there in singles matches and they lose, you know what I mean? You kind of have to shelve them. I kind of understand and try to be humble with that. It does seep into your head, like, ‘Dude, what did I do wrong?’ Because no-one talks to you. It’s not like they check up on me every week going ‘How are you doing, dude?’ It’s just, ‘We’ll call you when we need you.’ That is kind of like a headf***. At the same time, I’m so grateful because I get paid every two weeks and, Blade is now healthy, so we can work indies and stuff like that, and just waiting for the call for the return. Hopefully it happens soon. I know that there’s a lot of injuries going on right now in AEW, so, that’s usually an indicator that they’re probably going to bring some guys back that were sitting.”
