Will Ospreay Dealing with Online Backlash Over Working with British Wrestler Accused of Underage Grooming at Pro Wrestling EVE’s Wrestle Queendom VIII Event

Pro Wrestling EVE held their Wrestle Queendom VIII event this past Sunday in London, England. This event was notable for drawing the largest ever attendance for an all-women’s event in the United Kingdom and for Will Ospreay’s work as a producer for the company.

Ospreay reflected earlier today on Twitter about his praise of all of his co-producers who helped put tother EVE’s historic event. Among those he listed who had worked backstage at the show was British indies wrestler Paul Robinson.

“The biggest shout out to my co producers.

Michael Oku, Nina Samuels & Paul Robinson.

I can never forget how much work you’ve put into making every match feel special.”

Ospreay’s comments quickly drew serious negative online backlash from fans due to his association with Robinson, who was among those exposed for committing inappropriate behavior towards female wrestlers during the Speaking Out movement. Robinson was accused of grooming an underage female wrestler at a wrestling event in 2014.

This underage female wrestler was 16 years old at the time of the incident with Robinson and had stated that it took place at an event for Westside Xtreme Wrestling in Germany. She stated that they ended up kissing and were “inseparable” afterwards as a couple but her mother found out about their relationship and began sending her nasty messages. She also claimed that Robinson later blocked her on social media after they drifted apart.

Following the allegations, Robinson had issued an official statement at the time denying the allegations against him but also apologized to his accuser for any actions he took or things he said that hurt them in any way since that was not his intention.
