AJ Lee Comments on Her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title Victory Being “It Is Surreal To Be A Champion Again 11 Years Later”
As noted before, Saturday’s WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 event also featured AJ Lee defeating Becky Lynch to become the new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
WWE held an Elimination Chamber post-show following Saturday’s event in Chicago, Illinois. One of the guests was WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion AJ Lee. One of the topics discussed included Lee’s thoughts about her making Lynch tap out to win the title and her winning her first championship in 11 years.
“So good. Surreal. I feel like it took her forever to actually tap. It was the longest moment of my life. I was waiting to see if she would give up. She did. It is surreal to, 11 years later, be a champion again.”
Lee also gave her thoughts about how she never thought a moment like this would come to her since she just wanted to beat Becky once or twice.
“It was not in the cards at all. Even coming back, I just wanted to beat Becky’s face in once or twice. I was content with that. So for the title opportunity to come up, it’s sprinkles on top of the sundae. I am going to really enjoy every second of this.”
