Adam Copeland Challenges FTR to AEW World Tag Titles New York Street Fight with Special Stip for Double or Nothing 2026

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon featured one new potential match for the card of Double or Nothing 2026, which takes place on May 24th at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.

This new potential match was an AEW World Tag Team Championship New York Street Fight match of Cope & Cage (Adam Copeland & Christian Cage) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) (c).

This new potential match was setup following a backstage promo segment involving Copeland talking about how FTR claims they are the best tag team in the world and stated that is not true, they are only one of the best teams. Copeland then talked about FTR’s recent actions towards him and issued a challenge to FTR for their AEW World Tag Team titles in a New York Street Fight match. Copeland continued stating that to make the offer more enticing for FTR to accept, if him and Cage loses, then they will retire as a tag team.

Death Riders Save Will Ospreay from Mark Davis Attack

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured the Death Riders saving Will Ospreay from a post-match attack by Mark Davis.

Following Davis’ victory over Ospreay by referee stoppage after Davis damaged Ospreay’s neck to not allow him to be able to continue, Davis went after Ospreay and continued his attack. Davis then hoisted up Ospreay for a hanging piledriver only to be stopped by Marina Shafir and Jon Moxley who showed up and confronted him. This led to the rest of the Death Riders showing up causing Davis to let go of Ospreay and got of the ring. The Death Riders then grabbed Ospreay and dragged him out of the ring and through the crowd.

Samoa Joe Makes Return to AEW

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured Samoa Joe making his return to AEW.

Joe competed in a singles match against Cody Chhun, which was won by Joe. Following the match, HOOK came out to the stage to celebrate Joe’s victory and him being back.

This was Joe’s first appearance in AEW since this past January due to a non-contact injury.
