As noted before, Becky Lynch defeated AJ Lee to become the new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion at WWE’s WrestleMania 42 Night 1 event earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lee had stated during the post-show that she would be stepping away from WWE for a while but she would be back soon. Lee recently posted a lengthy message on Instagram thanking everyone she has worked with and those who have supported her.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that one source within WWE stated that WWE officials currently do not have any creative plans for Lee for the near future and she is done with her current run in the company.
It was reported that those within WWE currently have internal hope that Lee will return for future programs and matches down the line with an appearance at this August’s SummerSlam 2026 event being among the possibilities for her.
It was also reported that there are currently no formal plans within WWE regarding Lee’s potential return.
