As noted before, Cody Rhodes suffered an orbital bone injury during his match against Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship at this past Saturday’s WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 1 event in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that while WWE had announced that Rhodes was in their concussion protocol, his sources stated that Rhodes is currently believed to not have suffered a concussion injury. Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that Rhodes being placed in the concussion protocol was a precautionary measure by WWE officials.
Meltzer reported that Rhodes still has yet to be fully evaluated on his left eye injury but there is no orbital bone fracture which would be a serious enough injury to keep him out of action for some time.
Meltzer also reported that it is currently not known if Rhodes will be medically cleared to wrestle at next month’s Backlash 2026 event.
