Renee Paquette on Eddie Kingston Being Her Favorite Person Backstage In AEW, Working with RJ City, & When She Fell in Love with Pro Wrestling

A recent episode of AEW’s Who Is..? show featured AEW interviewer and personality Renee Paquette as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Paquette’s thoughts about Eddie Kingston being her favorite person backstage in AEW.

“My favorite person backstage. There’s a lot, obviously. I gotta go Eddie Kingston. I love Eddie. I don’t care which version of Eddie I get that day, whether it’s good mood Eddie, it’s bad mood Eddie. I find him entertaining and he’s just a real person. He gives you all sides of him at all times. So I gotta go Eddie.”

Paquette also gave her thoughts in character about who is her least favorite person to work with backstage in AEW.

“RJ City can eat shit. Yeah, RJ’s a pain in my ass. I’ve never met a more neurotic person in my entire life. It’s great in the sense that he keeps everybody on their toes and he makes things come together and happen. But like, brother, you don’t have to text me this at seven o’clock in the morning. We’re gonna get to it. Yes, I have a child. Yes, I get up early. But like, you gotta give a little window. It’s insane to wake up with these texts and things, files that I need to open and things I need to look at, like, give us all a minute. Fuck off, RJ.”

Paquette also gave her thoughts about when she fell in love with professional wrestling.

“I fell in love with wrestling when I started working in wrestling. It was such a different perspective to cover professional wrestling and talk about wrestling on TV, but then to actually work for a wrestling company and see like the belly of the beast and see the way things work, I think for me to understand and get that full respect for everybody that works in this industry from top to tail. I think that’s what really made me fall in love with this. Especially because I came from more of like an entertainment background, but I played a ton of sports growing up. So to see those two things come together, it’s a match made in heaven for me. I would not want to cover another sport. Like this is the world that I am meant to be in and I love it, but I think it was actually doing it and getting to fall in love with it in real time.”
