Jade Cargill Comments on Wanting To “Lay A Foundation in WWE” First Before Pursuing Hollywood Career
Open Thoughts held a recent interview with WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill. One of the topics discussed included Cargill’s thoughts about her wanting to “lay a foundation” in WWE first for her wrestling career before she pursues a potential Hollywood acting career in the future.
“I love what I’m doing right now. I really want to lay a foundation. I look at people who have came before me like The Rock or John Cena, who just finished his whole final tour this past year. I really want to lay the foundation before I dip off into that lane. I can do both, if WWE lets me I can do both, but I really want to lay a thick foundation here that can’t be duplicated so I can always comeback and help the next generation like John Cena did or The Rock has done. But, if the opportunity presents itself, I doubt WWE would say no. I would love to, I think that I would absolutely love it. I think that my job prepares me for situations like this and those type of scenes. I mean, I am a walking superhero, so why not. You don’t need aesthetics, just let me go out there and be myself. Hand me the script, give me some time to rehearse and I got you.”

CM Punk Comments on Future of His WWE Career
A recent episode of the All The Smoke podcast featured WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Punk’s thoughts about him still having a lot to accomplish in his WWE career and him believing he can be the rare type of athlete who is both a good player and coach in wrestling.
“So much more. So much more, because my perspective has changed drastically. You know, I think wrestling can be — I call it a sport. A lot of people don’t. Some people call it sports entertainment. Lately we’ve had this rash of people calling it ‘cinema,’ and it’s a little bit of everything, you know? But to me, it’s a sport.
To me, there’s so much more about wrestling than just the in-ring stuff. Especially now, my perspective has changed. So, you know, we need brains behind the operation. We need coaches. We need people who are passionate about it and who are smart to the business. And sometimes the best wrestlers don’t become the best trainers or the best coaches, just like how the best players, I mean, [Michael] Jordan, Kobe [Bryant], you didn’t see these guys coaching. Everybody’s different. There’s different levels to everything. But then you have those players that maybe weren’t even the brightest players on the court, they make the best coaches, you know, they’re X’s and O’s guys. I think I’m one of those guys. I think I’m one of those rare guys that can be both.”
Punk also gave his thoughts about how it is important to him to treat younger wrestlers better than he was treated coming up in the business.
“That’s to me what is left for me to do in this business. A lot of it is giving back. A lot of it is treating the young guys and girls that are coming up sometimes the exact opposite of the way I was treated. You know, old-school mentality and all that, a lot of the bullying and the hazing and all that stuff has gone away. And I think I was a big catalyst to sort of help that. Instead of trying to be like a hard-ass about everything, I was the one inviting people like, ‘No, no, you come here, sit here. If anybody messes with you, you let me know. We’ll handle it.’ Because at the end of the day, it’s a business. And, yes, it can be selfish. And it can be individualized. But these are my teammates. I want to see everybody succeed instead of just trying to make sure I succeed and I don’t care if everybody else fails.”

Jacob Fatu Comments on Original Plans for His WWE Debut Was Delayed
A recent episode of WWE’s RAW Recap podcast featured Jacob Fatu as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Fatu revealing that he was already signed with WWE when WrestleMania 40 happened in April of 2024 and he had attended the event backstage to see his cousins Roman Reigns, The Usos and Solo Sikoa.
“Yeah, I was there. WrestleMania 40. WrestleMania 40, pulled up. A lot of people don’t know, a lot of my independent career took off in Philadelphia so to be there, that WrestleMania during that time, it was something special. I got there at WrestleMania, still didn’t know — I was signed already. I just got signed but I didn’t know when I was coming. Day after WrestleMania 40, met everybody, said what’s up. We were at the Hall of Fame, I was sitting in Gorilla (Position). Nobody could see me. I was hooded up. Everybody walking by, and I was tripping out. I seen my brother Solo (Sikoa), I seen my brother Big Jim, see Mr. Yeet Man… I was in there with Roman (Reigns), the Tribal Chief and O.G. Paul Heyman so, to go out there and be a part of that, it was off the rip.”
Fatu also gave his thoughts about the original plans for his WWE debut was for him to debut at the Money in the Bank 2024 event in July of 2024.
“I just remember when Roman (Reigns) seen me, when I left (that WrestleMania 40 weekend), he said, ‘Jacob, do whatever you gotta do. But when you come back, look different.’ I was already looking different at that time. But, two more months, came in and got it rolling. The day after WrestleMania 40, seen Tama — Tama Tonga come over. Tama Tonga’s a beast, a workhorse, a dog, you know what I mean? Seen him, man, okay. Didn’t know they was coming. Backlash, France, seen Tanga Loa pop up. I’m like, ‘Okay.’ I gotta call brother up and them, ‘Hey man, I still got a job over there!?’ I ain’t know what was going on. But man, it all fell together. It all came together. I was supposed to debut at Money in the Bank. Next thing you know, they called. Man, a couple days and was like, ‘We doing it on SmackDown.’ Nobody seen it coming.”
