Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE’s current ticket sales for this month’s WrestleMania 42 event at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada are still not moving well enough.
Meltzer reported that as of the time of his report, WWE had sold and distributed around 39,345 tickets for Night 1 on April 18th and 41,317ctickets for Night 2 on April 19th.
Meltzer reported that WWE’s current total of 80,662 tickets for WrestleMania 42 is around 19.1% lower than what last year’s WrestleMania 41 had for its total at this same point last year.
Meltzer speculated that baring major papering being done, WrestleMania 42 is unlikely to reach a sell out status of 60,000 per night based on the capacity of the Allegiant Stadium for wrestling events.
Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in San Jose, California featured WWE’s latest attempted to boost the ticket sales for WrestleMania 42 following Pat McAfee announcing a special 25% off discount on all tickets for the Night 1 show on April 18th from now until the start of this Monday’s WWE RAW show.
