As noted before, New Day’s Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston recently departed from WWE following a mutual decision from both sides over New Day not accepting a new restructured deal offer.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that New Day are currently generating a lot of interest from within AEW. It was reported that there are many names in AEW who are currently pushing for the company to sign Woods and Kingston once they become available.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources confirmed that there is a lot of excitment currently within AEW about the idea of New Day joining the company. Those spoken to within AEW pointed out that The Young Bucks and New Day have previously teased a dream match with each other. Some within AEW reportedly are currently now hopeful that this long-hyped dream match could finally happen.
MJF and FTR’s Cash Wheeer recently made references to New Day on social media teasing them pushing for AEW to sign the team. Besides MJF and Wheeler, others within AEW also made similar references on social media teasing wanting New Day to come over to the company.
