Backstage: Adam Pearce, Roman Reigns

A black SUV drives into the CHI Health Center, and a furious World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns charges out of the vehicle. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce tries to talk to him, but Reigns charges to the Gorilla Position and wants to make his entrance. Pearce says that Jacob Fatu isn’t here. Reigns turns and sees Seth Rollins. Rollins says, “You’re in my way.”


Ringside: Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker

“BURN IT DOWN!”

Seth Rollins makes his entrance. As he walks down the aisleway, Bron Breakker attacks him from behind. Breakker punches away at Rollins before doing a military press and dropping him face-first on the barricade. WWE officials run down to keep Breakker away from Rollins. Breakker grabs two security guards and throws them into the barricade before sending Rollins into the ring steps. Breakker puts Rollins in the ring before he’s backed up again.

Pearce admonishes Breakker and thinks he has things under control, but Breakker charges past him and gets in the ring. Breakker crushes Rollins with a Spear! The crowd chants, “One more time.” Breakker goes to the apron and leaps down to the floor. Breakker backs up the aisleway and smiles psychotically. The crowd boos as Breakker heads to the back. Rollins holds his ribs in pain and slowly gets to his feet.

Backstage: Judgement Day

Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan is with AAA Mega Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, Raquel Rodriguez, and Roxanne Perez. Morgan is pleased that Stephanie Vaquer was injured, but she’s not happy with Roxanne Perez talking to Finn Bálor. Morgan wants to know why she has to watch Netflix to find out what’s happening with the Judgment Day. Perez says she made it clear to Bálor that he needs to go away, but she should have told her. Perez assures Morgan she’s loyal to the Judgment Day. Morgan says she thinks Perez and Rodriguez will be the next Women’s Tag Team Champions, but she wants Perez to promise she won’t keep anything from the family. Perez promises, but Morgan makes her expand on it. Perez promises not to keep anything from the Judgment Day.


Finn Balor vs. JD McDonagh

They lock up, and McDonagh wrenches the arm. Bálor rolls through the pressure, but McDonagh takes him down and applies a wristlock. Bálor kips up and hooks a side headlock. McDonagh tries to whip him off, but Bálor pulls him down to the mat. McDonagh rolls him onto his shoulders for a one-count. McDonagh fights up, but Bálor hits him with an arm drag. McDonagh fights up and backs Bálor into the ropes. McDonagh gives a clean break, and Mysterio grabs Bálor’s feet. McDonagh quickly attacks and stomps Bálor down in the corner. McDonagh taunts the crowd before chopping Bálor’s chest. McDonagh sends him to the opposite corner, but Bálor slingshots over him and hits some chops to the chest. McDonagh kicks him, but Bálor fights back with another chop for a two-count.

Bálor applies a front facelock and gyrates a la Mysterio, but McDonagh fights out. Bálor hits a side Russian leg sweep for a two-count. McDonagh quickly hits a drop toehold and drops a leg for a two-count. McDonagh kicks Bálor in the leg before putting it on the rope and jumping onto it. Bálor is writhing in pain on the mat. McDonagh yanks on the leg and slams it onto the mat. Bálor fights him off and limps around the ring. Bálor reverses a whip, so McDonagh attempts a sunset flip. Bálor rolls through and hits a basement dropkick. Bálor hits a clothesline over the top rope. Bálor hits the ropes for a dive, but Mysterio grabs his feet again! Bálor is furious, and McDonagh sneaks up from behind and knocks him out of the ring.

Roxanne Perez heads down to the ringside area.

Back from the break, we see Bálor fight up from a rear chin lock. McDonagh quickly cuts him off. McDonagh gets Bálor on his shoulder, but Bálor counters with a falling elbow drop. Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan comes down to the ringside area with Raquel Rodriguez. Bálor punches back at McDonagh before sending him into the ropes for an ugly back body drop. Bálor hits him with a double stomp to the midsection. McDonagh reverses a whip, but Bálor fights back with a Sling Blade. Bálor sizes him up, but Mysterio gets on the apron. Bálor clotheslines Mysterio down, and McDonagh rolls him up for a two-count.

McDonagh catches Bálor charging with a Spanish Fly! 1… 2… Bálor kicks out. Wow, Bálor nearly landed on his head from that. Bálor gets up on the apron and shoulders and kicks McDonagh down. Bálor heads to the top rope, but Rodriguez distracts the referee, allowing Mysterio to knock Bálor down. The referee has had enough and ejects Mysterio from the ringside.

McDonagh takes Bálor down and goes to the top rope for a moonsault, but Bálor gets his knees up for a two-count. Bálor quickly hits a Sling Blade and gets fired up. Liv Morgan gets on the apron and yells at the referee. Morgan tosses the ring bell hammer to Perez. Bálor hits McDonagh with a shotgun dropkick into the corner. Bálor heads to the apron, but Perez hits him in the throat with the bell hammer! McDonagh headbutts Bálor in the face for the win.

Winner: JD McDonagh via Pinfall.

Jackie Redmond catches up with Seth Rollins, who is in a lot of pain. She asks if he’ll be ok for Backlash. Rollins says Backlash is in five days. He’ll be fine. Last week, Rollins warned “the kid” that if he takes his chances, he’d better finish the job. Rollins says, “I ain’t dead yet.” Rollins walks off.

Backstage: The Vision

Bron Breakker is talking with World Tag Team Champions Logan Paul and Austin Theory. They’re making fun of Seth Rollins. Paul Heyman walks up and asks if Seth Rollins is still breathing. Breakker concedes that he is. Paul says he’ll make sure Joe Hendry is destroyed. Heyman says Paul won’t face Hendry because he just had Brock Lesnar retired on him, and he can’t afford to have Paul in jail for what he does to Hendry. Theory says he’ll take it to Hendry for Paul.


Je’Von Evans & Penta vs. Rusev & “All Ego” Ethan Page

Video: Last Monday, on a video shown on social media, Rusev told Ethan Page he wouldn’t have to worry about Penta because he would be the Intercontinental Champion.

Rusev will start against Je’Von Evans. Rusev powers Evans into the corner and shoulders away at him. Rusev punches Evans down. Rusev whips him to the corner, but Evans slides on the mat and punches back at Rusev. Rusev quickly fires back with a strike to take Evans down. Rusev drags Evans to his corner and tags “All Ego” Ethan Page. Page punches Evans in the midsection. Evans fights back with some chops to the chest. Evans ducks a strike and rocks him with a right hand. Evans attacks Rusev before hitting Page with a vertical suplex. Evans pops up and pays tribute to Penta. Evans backflips away from Page, and Penta tags in.

Evans kicks Page before Penta kicks him into the corner. Penta hits Page with a handstand slingshot basement dropkick. Rusev is sent out of the ring with an assisted hurricanrana from Evans. Evans then hits Rusev with a plancha. In the ring, Page goes for the Twisted Grin on Penta. Penta fights out and hits a Penta Driver! 1… 2… Page kicks out!

Back from the break, Rusev sends Penta into the corner and avalanches him. Penta gets out of the ring to recover, so Rusev follows him out. Rusev puts Penta in the ring and gets on the apron, but Penta catches him with a springboard clothesline. Penta goes for a tag, but Rusev pulls Evans off the apron. Rusev sends Penta to his corner, but Penta punches Page. Penta avoids Rusev and goes for a tag, but Evans isn’t back. Page tags in and attacks Penta. Rusev charges Evans, but Evans leapfrogs him, sending Rusev into the ring steps. Penta gets out of the Twisted Grin and tags Evans.

Evans comes in to a big reaction and clotheslines Page before hitting a stunner. Evans hits Rusev with a baseball slide before hitting Page with a German Suplex. Evans hits the ropes and takes out Rusev with a big dive over the top rope. Evans heads to the top rope and hits Page with a wild diving clothesline for a near fall. Evans gets the crowd going and goes to the top rope. Evans goes for a moonsault, but he lands on his feet when Page moves. Evans avoids the Twisted Grin, but Page catches him with a boot. Evans comes back with a Red Dot.

Penta tags in and hits Page with a tornado DDT. 1… 2… Rusev breaks it up. Evans grabs Rusev and pulls the top rope down to get him out of the ring. Evans hits Rusev with a suicide dive into the commentary table. Evans gets a crazy look in his eyes and goes to the top rope! Page quickly knocks Evans to the floor. Penta knocks Page out of the ring, but Page quickly trips him. The referee holds Page back. Rusev hits Penta with a Sambo suplex on the commentary table before putting him into the ring. Page hits Penta with a fisherman’s buster for the win.

Winner: Rusev & “All Ego” Ethan Page via Pinfall.

In-Ring: Adam Pearce, Sol Ruca, Becky Lynch

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce talks about being excited about blue-chip performers signing with brands like Raw and SmackDown.

Pearce introduces Sol Ruca to the ring. Ruca comes out to a nice ovation. She has new theme music. Pearce congratulates her and hands her a contract to join the Raw brand. Ruca says, “Damn, it is going to feel so damn good when I sign this and officially be a part of Monday Night Raw.”

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion “The Man” Becky Lynch interrupts and storms down to the ring. Lynch says she’s been looking for “Petty Pearce.” She was told this would be her time for a Celebration of Greatness. Pearce asks who told her that. Lynch says someone said it. Lynch complains about facing “IYO Jannetty,” but she was victorious in an uncontroversial match.

Ruca has had enough and asks if Lynch is done. Lynch says she’s not done. Ruca says not everything is about Lynch. Lynch says Ruca is new, but the sooner she learns this, the better. Everything is about her. Ruca says she knows what Lynch has done and accomplished. However, she didn’t expect to find that Lynch is exactly what everyone says she is: a rude, bigheaded bitch. Ruca says it’s not just her saying it. It’s the New York Times, Sports Illustrated… Lynch is not happy that Ruca spoke to her like that. The crowd is happy about it.

Ruca signs her contract to join Raw. Lynch asks, “Who are you?” Ruca says, “I’m Sol Ruca, and if you ever interrupt me again, I’ll not only kick your ass; I’ll snatch your soul.” Lynch goes to hit her, but Ruca moves, and she hits Pearce instead. Pearce is furious. Ruca smiles as Pearce leaves the ring. Ruca goes for a Sol Snatcher, but she slips on the bottom rope. Ruca then shoves off the ropes and flips for a Sol Snatcher. Ruca poses on the ropes.

Video:Last Friday on SmackDown, Jacob Fatu destroyed Solo Sikoa and Talla Tonga. Fatu then ignored the Usos.


Backstage: The Usos

Jackie Redmond finds The Usos walking backstage. She asks about the contract signing. Jimmy Uso says they’re here for a big night. Jacob Fatu needs to understand how the OTC does business when it comes to the title. Jey Uso says this is family business. They’re here to make sure nothing pops off with Reigns and Fatu. They warned Fatu that he’s swimming in deep water. They respect that, but the Bloodline has been drawn. At Backlash, Fatu will find out who he’s messing with. Jey says, “Good luck, little cousin.” They walk into Roman Reigns’ locker room.

World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu will have a contract signing later tonight.


In-Ring: Joe Hendry, The Vision

Joe Hendry makes his way to the ring.

Joe Hendry is leading the crowd in singing, “Paul, Paul, can we fire Logan Paul?”

World Tag Team Champions Logan Paul and Austin Theory storm out. Paul says he is unfireable. TKO cannot fire him. Paul says he’s the heart and soul of the WWE. Hendry says he knows Paul is upset, but he’s getting to the part of the song that’s an apology.

Hendry goes back to singing, “Paul, Paul, can we fire Logan Paul?”


Joe Hendry vs. Austin Theory

Austin Theory charges the ring, but Joe Hendry attacks him and clotheslines him over the top rope. Logan Paul gets on the apron, but Hendry scares him off. Theory takes Hendry down and punches away at him. Theory takes Hendry down and hits a backbreaker. Theory whips Hendry hard into the corner and punches away at him. Paul gets on the apron, and the crowd chants, “Logan sucks.” Theory hits Hendry with a vertical suplex before taunting the crowd. Theory sets up for another suplex. Paul walks around the ringside area with the World Tag Team Titles. Hendry counters with a vertical suplex.

Hendry punches Theory before sending him into the ropes for a Commonwealth Clothesline. Hendry hits a corner clothesline before catching him with a fallaway slam. Hendry kips up and poses. Logan Paul attacks Hendry from behind.

Winner: Joe Hendry via Disqualification.

Paul punches away at Hendry and talks some trash to him. Hendry punches back at him until Theory joins in. The Street Profits run down for the save. Logan Paul is sent out of the ring. The Street Profits set up for a double-team on Theory, but Bron Breakker runs down. Breakker wildly sends Montez Ford over the top rope before hitting Angelo Dawkins with a German Suplex.

Breakker sets up for a Spear, but Seth Rollins pulls Breakker out of the ring! Rollins punches away at Breakker and sends him hard into the ring steps. Rollins gets Breakker in the ring and attacks him before punching Paul off the apron. Rollins clotheslines Breakker down before shaking the ropes. Ford gets in the ring and dives over Rollins and the ring post with a somersault senton onto The Vision! Wow! Rollins is looking at that before Breakker hits him with a Spear! Rollins clutches his ribs in pain. Breakker says, “You almost got me. You were close.”


Backstage: Judgement Day, Bayley, Lyra Valkyria

Jackie Redmond is backstage with the Judgment Day. What is the focus of the Judgment Day moving forward? Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan says their focus is on getting all the gold. Raquel Rodriguez says the nostalgia tour for Paige and Brie Bella is over. She tells them to get on their show. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria walk up. Bayley says they haven’t forgotten what they’ve done. Valkyria says they should try them again. Morgan says that’s what families do. They should try it. Morgan calls them losers, and the Judgment Day walks off.


Backstage: Oba Femi

Oba Femi is walking backstage. His Open Challenge is next.

Redown to the ring to a great ovation. Femi says the time has come for the Oba Femi Open Challenge to begin.

Alpha Academy heads to the ring. It looks like Akira Tozawa will be answering the challenge. Otis and Maxxine Dupri stand on the apron to support him. Femi laughs at this challenge. Tozawa steps up to Femi and becomes terrified. Otis gently pushes Tozawa aside and will answer the challenge instead.

They lock up, and Femi shoves Otis off. They absorb shoulder tackles from one another before shoving each other. Otis rips his shirt off and sends Femi back with a shoulder tackle. They hit the ropes, and Femi hits a running uppercut! Femi lifts Otis and throws him across the ring! Femi sizes Otis up and puts him on the second rope. Femi lifts Otis and hits the Fall from Grace for the win!

Winner: Oba Femi via Pinfall.


Backstage: Seth Rollins, Joe Hendry, Street Profits

Seth Rollins is walking around in pain when he walks up to the Street Profits and Joe Hendry. Montez Ford says that due to Rollins’ past antics, no one can trust him. Rollins says it doesn’t matter. They’re fighting the same people. If they stay out of his way, he’ll stay out of their way.

Jacob Fatu is shown finally arriving at the arena.

Video: Raw General Manager Adam Pearce is mediating a sitdown with IYO SKY and Asuka. Sky says she was trying to avoid this fight because she loved Asuka. She has the ultimate respect for her and never wanted it to come to this. Asuka has changed. Asuka says nothing has changed. Sky says the Asuka she looked up to is gone. Asuka says Sky has once again disrespected her. The Iyo she taught is no longer here. Asuka doesn’t know anyone this disrespectful. Who is Iyo? Asuka says Iyo is her biggest disappointment. Asuka says, “I’m done with IYO SKY. At Backlash, I’m going to cut you out of my life for good.” Sky says, “I am ready for Asuka.” Asuka thinks about it and gets close to Sky. Asuka then spits Blue Mist in Sky’s face! Pearce freaks out and demands a doctor.

Asuka will battle IYO SKY this Saturday at Backlash.

Jackie Redmond is in the Gorilla Position with the Original El Grande Americano y Los Americanos Hermanos. Americano says the no-contact rule doesn’t count in the United States. They make their entrance.

Original El Grande Americano & Los Hermanos Americanos (Bruto & Juilo Creedo) vs. Los Americanos (Rayo, Bravo, & El Grande Americano)

They all start brawling before the originals clear the supposed impostors out of the ring. Bruto starts against Bravo and takes it to him. Julio tags in, and they hit Bravo with a double-team back body drop. Rayo tags in and attacks Julio, but Julio hits him with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Julio then turns him inside out with an inverted German Suplex. OG tags in. Bruto hits a Bruto Ball before OG hits a hip toss for a two-count. Rayo gets away and tags El Grande Americano in. They lock up, and OG quickly takes him down. Los Americanos pull OG out of the ring, and Americano hits a baseball slide.

Back from the break, Rayo knocks Bruto off the apron and puts Julio in a sleeper hold. Julio pops up and hits a backpack senton.

Americano and OG tag in. OG takes Americano down and punches him. Rayo jumps off the ropes, but OG catches him and suplexes him. OG hits Bravo with a rolling kick before hitting Americano with an Angle Slam. Bravo blind tags in. OG hits Bravo and Rayo with a double German Suplex. OG hits Americano with a cannonball off the apron before clotheslining Rayo on the floor. Julio hits Rayo with a superplex before Bruto hits a moonsault. Americano clears Los Americanos Hermanos out of the ring before hitting OG with a flying headbutt. Bravo hits a big splash on OG for a near fall.

Rayo kicks Bruto, but Julio grabs him and hits a powerbomb onto the apron. OG sends Bravo into Americano and hits a Chaos Theory German Suplex. Los Americanos Hermanos hit Americano with a slam into the barricade. OG hits a diving headbutt on Bravo for the win.

WWE Backlash 2026 Show Card Rundown

Michael Cole and Corey Graves talk about WWE Backlash before mentioning that John Cena will be on the show with a history-making announcement. They then go over the rest of the card.


In-Ring: Adam Pearce, Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu

World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns heads to the ring.

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce is in the ring with World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. There is a table in the center of the ring. Reigns puts the title in the middle of the table and takes a seat at the head of the table.

Pearce introduces Jacob Fatu to the ring. The Samoan Werewolf heads to the ring. Fatu gets in the ring and takes a seat. Pearce says he needs two signatures to make this match official. The crowd sings to Reigns. Reigns stares intensely at Fatu. Fatu stares back coldly. Reigns says Pearce knows how this works. Reigns, never taking his eyes off Fatu, says, “Omaha, Nebraska… acknowledge me.” The crowd loudly chants, “OTC.”

Reigns says that’s the sound of respect from the crowd. Reigns says he was watching his cousin from afar. Fatu was grinding for twelve years. Reigns has been here for over twelve years. Reigns had his foot holding the door open for Solo Sikoa. Reigns brought Sikoa in, which means he brought Fatu in. He’ll be damned if there’s no respect for him in this business. Another “OTC” chant picks up. Reigns sits back and listens. Reigns says there has to be respect and an honor code for their family. There needs to be a code of conduct they can hang their hats on. The Tongan Death Grip… Fatu disrespected him with something saved for desperate measures. You pull that out when you’re in a bar with an 8-to-1 disadvantage. You don’t try to snap your family’s throat. You don’t do that to the Tribal Chief.

Fatu says Reigns is wrong about the Tribal Chief. Fatu says he is desperate. It feels like it’s him against the world. Fatu’s back is against the wall, so he has no other choice but to take Reigns out. Fatu wants the title and everything that comes with it. Fatu will put a chokehold on this game and squeeze out every dollar and cent, just like how this company has done to their family for decades. When he talks about all gas and no brakes, it’s not about slowing down. It’s about moving forward and never going back to where he came from. Fatu is desperate enough to do anything for his household, even if he has to run through his own blood.

Reigns cuts him off and signs the contract to get it out of the way. Reigns says he’s been here for over a decade, grinding for multiple households. While Fatu is worried about his seven kids, he’s worried about everyone’s kids. Reigns has the proof of concept and the respect. This company wants to do business with him. This is his ring. In their family, they’re equals and of the same blood. In this ring, Fatu is beneath him.

Fatu pops up and goes for a Tongan Death Grip, but Reigns throws him off. Reigns grabs the title. Fatu goes for the Tongan Death Grip again, but Reigns punches him off. Reigns punches away at him, but Fatu grabs him by the throat again. Reigns goes for a Superman Punch, but Fatu finally traps him in the Tongan Death Grip! Reigns is fading, and Pearce tries to help. Fatu slams Reigns onto the table and signs the contract. A “Fatu” chant fires up. Fatu stands tall as WWE officials run down to protect Reigns.
