Thekla Gets Physical with Taro Okada
Sunday’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 event also featured AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla getting physical again with Stardom President Taro Okada in another chapter of their over year long rivalry.
During her title match against Starlight Kid, Thekla had confronted and taunted Okada who was seated at ringside. Following her victory over Starlight Kid, Thekla was handed a pair of scissors from Triangle of Madness and proceeded to use it to yank off Starlight Kid’s mask. Thekla grabbed the mask taunting Okada and then spitted in it. Thekla then went out of the ring and went up to Okada rubbing the mask all over Okada’s face and attacked him with it for added insult.

Jay White Makes Surprise Return From Injury
Sunday’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 event also featured Jay White making his surprise return from injury.
During the AEW World Tag Team match between The Dogs (Clark Connors & David Finlay) and Cage & Cope (Christian Cage & Adam Copeland), Connors shoved Cage into referee Stephon Smith to break up Copeland’s pin attempt and lay out the referee. Copeland and Connors then stared down each other and charged at each other with stereo spears knocking both of them out. Finlay grabbed the shillelagh and struck Cage with it and before he was able to do the same to Copeland, the lights turned out. When the lights came back on, the Bang Bang Gang was seen on the ramp causing Finlay to get distracted as White appeared in the ring and laid him out with a Bladerunner. White then got out of the ring and Copeland hit a spear to Finlay as the referee came back to his sense for the pinfall victory.

Andrade El Idolo Quits Don Callis Family
Sunday’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 event also featured Andrade El Idolo turning on MJF and the Don Callis Family.
Andrade turning his back on the Don Callis Family was initially setup over recent weeks shows over his issues with Don Callis working with MJF and not securing him a shot at MJF’s AEW World title. Near the end of the 12-Man Steel cage match between Team Briscoe and Team MJF, MJF demanded for Andrade to hold up Briscoe so that he could hit him with his Diamond Dynamite ring. This led to Andrade refusing since he remembered what happened last time he tried to help out MJF only to get laid out instead by accident. Andrade ended up reluctantly agreeing to help MJF and picked up Briscoe to hold him up. This turned out to just be a ruse and moved Briscoe out of the way and laid out MJF as he ran forward with a back fist strike.
This led to Jake Doyle arguing with Andrade over what he just did and shove him resulting in Andrade responding with a low blow kick to Doyle to lay him out. Andrade then took off his Team MJF shirt revealing another shirt underneath it that had the words “Fuck Don Fuck MJF” leading to Briscoe hitting a Jay Driller to MJF to give his team the pinfall victory. Andrade then went up to MJF and trash talked him and Callis and left the cage as Callis was angry over what just happened with Andrade costing his team the match.
