Dreamer’s departure was later confirmed by TNA to be part of a larger workplace reductions taking place within the company. TNA has been in contact with former WWE SmackDown co-lead writer and WWE Hall of Famer Brian “Road Dogg” James to be Dreamer’s potential replacement.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that while it was known within TNA that TNA officials and James had been in recent talks, the initial belief was that James would only be added to TNA’s creative team.
