As noted before, Danhausen cursed ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith following an appearance in an episode of ESPN’s First Take show this past April. The New York Knicks were cursed by association due to Smith being a big long-time fan of the team. Danhausen originally lifted the curse on the Knicks later that month and the team has been on an undefeated run in the current NBA Playoffs since then leading to their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999.
A recent episode of ESPN’s First Take show featured Danhausen making a guest appearance. During the show, Danhausen issued a new set of demands in order for him to not recurse the Knicks during the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs, which starts on June 3rd.
“Stephen A. Smith, your checks have cleared so far. However, if you want to keep this un-cursing going, perhaps Danhausen is gonna need his own TV show or more monies or perhaps those courtside seats. No big deal. You have until tip-off time to decide what happens with the curse.“
Smith responded back stating that Danhausen was “damaging his reputation by engaging in blackmail.“
