As noted before, this past May’s AEW Double or Nothing 2026 event in Queens, New York featured WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley making his official debut appearance in AEW. Foley had stated in an interview with The Ariel Helwani Show earlier this month that he is open to the idea of potentially wrestling one last match for his wrestling career and it taking place in AEW.
A recent episode of News4JAX’s Going Ringside podcast featured Foley as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Foley’s thoughts about the possibility of him wrestling one more match in the future.
“I had this great 30-minute conversation with Ariel Helwani and he asked me about the possibility of one more match. You never know. I did say if the stars were aligned, but we have to see how the stars align. I’d have to be in really good shape and feel like I could have a match that wouldn’t disappoint people.”
Foley also gave his thoughts about Darby Allin being his choice for a potential opponent for a final match for his in-ring wrestling career.
“I pointed out to Darby that I am on record of saying he would be a dream opponent. So you never know what the future may bring. I’m down a lot of weight, but my cardio is suspect at best, and I’d still have to lose another 30 pounds just to hit poor conditions. So we’ll see if there’s some changes in the next year.”
