Mick Foley Makes AEW Debut Appearance

Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing 2026 event at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York featured WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley making his official debut appearance in AEW.

At the start of the Buy In Pre-show, Renee Paquette welcomed Foley as her co-host for the pre-show. This led to Foley’s music playing and him coming out and gave a speech about tonight being one of the biggest nights in his life and AEW being the reason he fell in love with pro wrestling again.

Beth Copeland Makes Surprise Appearance

Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing 2026 event also featured Beth Copeland, former Beth Phoenix in WWE, making a surprise return appearance.

During the New York Street Fight I Quit match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship between Cage & Cope (Christian Cage & Adam Copeland) and FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood), Stokeley Hathaway interfered and strick Copeland in the head with the stolen watch from Cage. This led to Beth’s music playing and her running out to the ring to even up the odds. After some beatdowns on Stokeley by Beth, Harwood sent Beth into the steel steps. FTR and Stokeley then attempted to send Beth through a flaming table from the apron only for Beth to dodge Wheeler’s spear through the ropes and Stokeley and Wheeler getting sent through it instead.

Later in the match, Beth grabbed Spike, Copeland’s spiked board, from under the ring steps, and gave it to her husband who raked it onto Harwood’s head while he was locked in a Scorpion Death Lock by Cage and a crossface by Copeland to get him to say “I quit” and the referee calling for the bell.

This was Beth Copeland’s first appearance in AEW since this past August’s All Out 2025 event due to a storyline injury at the hands of FTR.

Cage & Cope Wins AEW World Tag Titles

Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing 2026 event also featured Cage & Cope (Christian Cage & Adam Copeland) defeating FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) in a New York Street Fight match to become the new AEW World Tag Team Champions.

This match featured the stipulation of if Cage and Copeland lost, then they could never team up together again in their wrestling careers.

This was Cage and Copeland’s first-ever AEW World Tag Team Championship victory in their AEW careers.

Konosuke Takeshita Wins AEW International Title

Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing 2026 event also featured Konosuke Takeshita defeating Kazuchika Okada to become the new AEW International Champion.

This was Takeshita’s second AEW International Championship victory in his AEW career.

Kyle Fletcher Returns & Attacks Konosuke Takeshita

Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing 2026 event also featured Kyle Fletcher making a surprise return from injury and turning heel on Konosuke Takeshita.

Following Takeshita’s victory over Kazuchika Okada to become the new AEW International Champion, the Don Callis Family’s Mark Davis and Rocky Romero came out to the ring to join up Don Callis, Okada, and Takeshita in the ring. All of them stood across from Takeshita teasing a confrontation only for Fletcher’s music playing and came out to the ring.

Fletcher stood by Takeshita’s side and stared down Okada leading to Okada and the rest of the Don Callis Family backing away. Fletcher and Takeshita gave a big hug to each other reuniting together for the first time in a long while. This turned out to just be a ruse and Fletcher attacked Takeshita laying him out with a lariat.

Callis responded with a smile as Fletcher continued his attack on Takeshita as the rest of the Don Callis Family got back into the ring. Both Okada and Fletcher went to pick up the International leading to Okada giving a smile and letting Fletcher have it. As Davis and Romero held up Takeshita, Fletcher struck him in the head with the belt to lay him out.

This was Fletcher’s first appearance since this past March due to a knee-related injury.

Athena Advances in 2026 Women’s Owen Hart Cup

Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing 2026 event also featured Athena defeating Mina Shirakawa in a First Round match in this year’s Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament.

As a result of her victory, Athena will be facing off against the winner of Skye Blue/Sareee in the Semifinal Round of this year’s Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament.
