SANADA faced off against Konosuke Takeshita for the NJPW World Television Championship, which was won by Takeshita to retain his title.

Sunday’s NJPW Dominion 2026 event also featured United Empire (HENARE & Great-O-Khan) defeating Knockout Bros (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice) to become the new IWGP Tag Team Champions.

This was Great-O-Khan and HENARE’s second IWGP Tag Team titles victory as a team in their NJPW careers.

Shota Umino Wins IWGP Global Title for His First Ever Title Victory

Sunday’s NJPW Dominion 2026 event also featured Shota Umino defeating Drilla Moloney and Andrade El Idolo in a Three-way match to become the new IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion

This was Umino’s first ever IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship victory and his first ever championship victory in his NJPW career.

Prior to his title victory, Umino had been winless in 18 attempts in title matches in NJPW.

Gabe Kid Makes Surprise Return Appearance

Sunday’s NJPW Dominion 2026 event also featured Gabe Kidd making a surprise return appearance to NJPW.

Following Shota Umino’s victory to become the new IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion, his victory celebration was cut short by a mystery masked person running out and laying him out. This mystery person took off his mask revealing himself to be Kidd. Kidd grabbed a microphone and proceeded to give an obscenities filled speech insulting Umino stating that he was never part of the Death Riders. Kidd continued stated that he would take the IWGP Global title whenever he wanted.

Kidd then directed his attention at Drilla Moloney at the ramp telling him to ignore the crowd wanting him to do something and brought up how he used to be cheered by them and now they hate him because he left NJPW.

Kidd then looked into the camera and proceeded to trash both WWE and New Japan with f-bombs and almost did the same to AEW before remembering who he works for now and boasted about AEW being “where the best wrestle.” Kidd then proceeded to spit on NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi from the ring to where he was seated at ringside and the New Japan logo in the ring and tossed the IWGP Global title out of the ring and onto the floor in another act of disrespect to New Japan.

This was Kidd’s first appearance in NJPW since this past February’s The New Beginning in Osaka 2026 event. This was also Kidd’s first appearance in wrestling since this past April’s AEW Dynasty 2026 event due to a shoulder injury.

YOH Wins IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title

Sunday’s NJPW Dominion 2026 event also featured YOH defeating DOUKI to become the new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.

Following the match, SHO confronted YOH and demanded a title shot only for YOH to reject him and pointed to Kosei Fujita at ringside for his choice. This led to SHO attacking YOH from behind and grabbed the title belt and proceeded to yell at Fujita. This then led to Master Wato coming out and laid out SHO and grabbed the belt. Fujita then got into the ring and confronted Wato over him trying to get a shot at a title before him. YOH then got up onto his feet and demanded Wato give back his title, which he did. After some teasing of YOH considering a match against both Fujita and Wato, Francesco Akira ran out and attacked YOH only for YOH to quickly get the upper hand and sent Akira out of the ring. YOH then grabbed the microphone again and announced a “YOH Game” between SHO, Fujita, Wato, and Akira and the winner would officially be his next challenger for his title.

This was YOH’s first ever IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship victory in his NJPW career.

Yota Tsuji Wins IWGP Heavyweight Title

Sunday’s NJPW Dominion 2026 event also featured Yota Tsuji defeating Callum Newman to become the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
