The Butcher and The Blade reportedly recently departed from AEW, according to Fightful Select.
Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that The Butcher and The Blade’s contracts with AEW have expired and AEW officials made the decision to not offer the duo a contract extension.
Sapp reported that The Butcher and The Blade are officially free agents and can sign with any company they want.
Prior to their departures, The Butcher and The Blade had been with AEW since November of 2019. The Butcher and The Blade last wrestled as a team in AEW and Ring of Honor in January of 2024 due to The Blade being sidelined with a spine injury and fusion surgery. The Butcher last wrestled in AEW in February of 2025 while The Blade made his in-ring return from injury this past December at an indie event.
