Update on Sheamus’ WWE Contract Status & When He Can Become Free Agent

As noted before, Sheamus recently departed from WWE following him turning down WWE’s offer for a restructured contract extension deal and was set to leave the company once his deal expired. At least one AEW talent is currently expected to push for AEW to sign Sheamus and work with him in the company.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Sheamus currently remains under contract with WWE but he is set to become a free agent on October 1.

It was reported that it is currently not known if Sheamus had additional time added to his contract or the exact reason for why his deal is expiring later than initially believed.

In regards to Sheamus “swiftly” turning down WWE’s offer for a new restructured deal earlier this year, it was reported that the deal offered to Sheamus was not “presented as an ultimatum” as some other recent deals offered to others by the company.
