Full Field of Competitors Announced for Marigold Dream Star Grand Prix 2026

Marigold recently announced the full field of competitors for this year’s Dream Star Grand Prix tournament, which takes place from August 28 to September 20 in Japan.

Dark Side of the Rings Ratings – July 28, 2026

The July 28th episode of Dark Side of the Ring drew 135,000 viewers on VICE TV, down from the prior week show’s 151,000 viewers.

It drew a 0.04 rating in the 18-49 key demographic, down from the prior week show’s 0.05 rating.

This week’s episode focused on The Big Bossman.

Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

Thursday’s live TNA Impact! show at The Licarious Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania featured a backstage segment involving TNA Director of Operations Daria Rae informing TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella of her plans to trim some of the fat on the roster. Rae specifically named Harley Hudson as someone she is planning on releasing from TNA. Marella responded defending Hudson stating that she moved to another country for the opportunity with TNA and she is an important part of the locker room. Rae responded back stating that none of that matters since Hudson has not won a match on Impact! shows since joining the company and she will be going to the Board of Directors to discuss terminating her contract.

WWE Hall of Famer Sycho Sid’s son Gunna Eudy announced on Facebook that the first annual Sycho Sid Memorial Benefit Show will be taking place on August 29 at the Minglewood Hall in Memphis, Tennessee. Eudy also announced that this upcoming event will be featuring a 150-person Battle Royal match with Jorydnne Grace among those currently scheduled to compete in it.

VICE TV recently released a trailer for the upcoming Renegade episode of their Dark Side of the Ring series on August 4 on their network.

TNA Hall of Famer Mickie James recently released a new video on her official YouTube channel. In the video, James announced that she will be participating in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in support of Rebel and her current battle with terminal ALS. James stated that she will be doing the challenge to help raise funds at the WrestleCon: Destination Minneapolis convention on August 2 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

As noted before, Mayu Iwatani has been out of action for Pro Wrestling NOAH and Marigold since this past May due to a fractured big toe injury. Marrigold recently provided an update announcing that Iwatani will be making her in-ring return from injury at their Summer Destiny 2026 event on August 9th in Tokyo, Japan.

Marigold also recently announced that they have made several changes to their management including Mayu Iwatani will now be working as a player-coach going forward in the company.

Marigold also announced on Twitter that their ring announcer Oki Okita was recently diagnoised with stage 4 colon cancer. It was stated “Please keep thoughts and prayers with Marigold ring announcer Oki Okita, who has been diagnosed with Stage4 Colon Cancer. He began his career with All Japan Women’s Pro Wrestling, and has been with Arsion, Zero-One and more. We’re cheering for your return Oki-san!!”
