El Hijo del Vikingo Injury Update
As noted before, Tuesday’s WWE NXT show at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida featured AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo del Vikingo suffering a storyline injury following a backstage attack angle involving Keanu Carver. Vikingo’s storyline injury was later revealed to have been a cover for a legitimate injury he had suffered during match rehearsals prior to the start of the show.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Vikingo had suffered a knee injury and WWE officials are waiting MRI results to learn the severity of it.
Vikingo previously had suffered a knee injury in December of 2024 that had kept him out of action for some time.
WWE Marketing Team Reportedly Yet To Receive Instructions To Update SummerSlam Art Concepts To Reflect Sami Zayn Being WWE Champion
As noted before, this past June’s WWE Night of Champions 2026 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia featured Sami Zayn defeating Cody Rhodes and Gunther in a Triple Threat match to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE’s marketing department had yet to receive instructions to update key art concepts for this August’s SummerSlam 2026 event to reflect Zayn being the Undisputed WWE Champion.
One WWE employee spoken to reportedly described the situation as being “worrisome.” This same employee reportedly stated that the reason for this feeling is due to the lack of advance notice for a major creative change like that could make their jobs more difficult if that level of secrecy becomes the norm in the company.
DDP Comments on Him Telling Triple H He Would Like To Be More Involved With WWE
As noted before, WWE has been considering plans for WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page to make a potential appearance on WWE television in the near future.
Cultaholic held a recent interview with DDP. One of the topics discussed included DDP’s thoughts about him having a recent conversation with WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque about how he would like to be more involved with WWE.
“I’m really good friends with Triple H, but he’s so busy that it’s not like I can call him anytime I want. I only call him or check in with him when I have something important to talk about or whatever. I stopped up there to do Cody’s show. You’ve got to remember, I was mentoring Cody when he was 12 years old, more of an adviser. Kind of like Dusty was to Eric Bischoff. When I came up there, I let Paul know, Triple H know, that I would love to stop in and say hello. He’s like, ‘Absolutely,’ and he took the time for me. I told him, I said, ‘Just so you know, I’m up here doing this, and I did some interviews and stuff. I don’t want a job, I do very well. I don’t need anything, and I don’t want to take anything away from anybody, but I do want to be a part — occasionally — of the show.’ Whether it’s (WWE) Rivals, like let’s see, me and Randy Savage – well, we were the feud of the year in ’97. Something’s a no-brainer. Me and Goldberg, that match, it could have gone either way. You didn’t know. Then there’s behind-the-scenes stories that I could talk about that I haven’t talked about… For me personally, yeah, I’d like to be involved a little bit more than just occasionally coming to the show.”
