As noted before, Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 2 event in Minneapolis, Minnesota featured Chelsea Green defeating Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair, Tiffany Stratton, and Lash Legend in a Ladder match to become the new Interim WWE Women’s Champion.
A recent episode of the WWE Now podcast featured Green as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Green’s thoughts about the lack of faith WWE producer Michael Hayes and others had about her being a top talent in WWE and how she knew Hayes’ negative comments about her on the WWE: Unreal docuseries would backfire.
“Screwed them? Yes (I think what Michael Hayes said about me got the fans to rally behind me). Yes! I have thought that since the minute that season one, episode three of Unreal came out. I thought, ‘Oh, this is not gonna be good for the office. But I love it.’ Hello. I’m getting all this love for just being me. For doing nothing out of the ordinary. For literally just showing up to work, doing my job and going home. Unfortunately, for the office, that aired, everyone loved it, and now here we are three seasons later. Unreal season three just came out and it reignited that passion from the fans. I know it did. I know it did; I felt it. I have felt it all weekend; I have felt it all year. I felt it for three years. I really felt it when I won the U.S. Title but it has exploded since then. Exploded, and I thank Michael Hayes for that.”
