Stephanie McMahon & Triple H’s Daughter Vaughn Evelyn Levesque Sings ‘God Bless America’ at WWE SummerSlam 2026

Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 1 event at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota featured Vaughn Evelyn Levesque, daughter of former co-WWE CEO Stephanie McMahon and WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque singing “God Bless America” to officially kick off the show.

Nick Aldis Competes In First Match In WWE Career

Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 1 event also featured SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis officially competing in his first ever match in his WWE career.

Aldis came out to the ring under the entrance theme song of “Morning Glory” by Oasis.

Aldis’ wife and TNA Hall of Famer and former WWE wrestler Mickie James was in attendance in the front row to watch the match with their son.

Aldis faced off against Gunther in a singles match, which was won by Gunther. Following the match, Gunther soaked in the appreciation by the crowd and embraced his wife James and son in the ring.

This was Aldis’ first match in his wrestling career since October of 2023.

The Bella Twins Turns Heel on Paige

Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 1 event also featured The Bella Twins (Brie & Nikki Bella) turning heel on Paige.

Following Fatal Influence’s (Lainey Reid, Fallon Henley, & Jacy Jayne) victory over the Bella Twins & Paige, the Bellas consoled Paige in the ring as Fatal Influence celebrated as they made their way to the back. Brie and Paige hugged and Paige then turned to the crowd to wave to them. As Paige turned around, Nikki laid her out with a forearm strike and Brie joined in on the attack. Nikki then laid out Paige with a Rack Attack and left the ring with Brie pleased over their actions. Nikki then shouted at the camera about that is what Paige gets for taking her spot and WWE Women’s Tag Team title reign.

Randy Orton Makes Surprise Return

Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 1 event also featured Randy Orton making his surprise return.

Near the end of the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and CM Punk, Rhodes accidentally took out the referee with a Cody Cutter after Punk shoved him in the way. After some more action between the two, Orton ran out from the crowd and laid out Rhodes with a RKO. Orton then left the ring as Punk got back on his feet and hit a GTS to Rhodes for the pinfall victory after the referee had recovered.

This was Orton’s first appearance since this past April’s WrestleMania 42 event.

Oba Femu Wins Hell In A Cell Match

Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 1 event also featured Oba Femi defeating Brock Lesnar in a Hell in a Cell match.

Following the match, Lesnar left the ring as Femi celebrated and posed. A sad Lesnar then went back into the ring and gave Femi a hug and raised up his arm.

Lesnar then grabbed a microphone and told everyone that Oba is the future of WWE. Lesnar then talked about how he is the past and Femi is the future. Lesnar then held up Femi’s arm one last time before leaving as Femi posed to close out the show.
