Katsuyori Shibata vs. Jungle Jack Perry

The Tailgate Brawl comes on the air with Excalibur, Taz & Tony Schiavone welcoming us to the pre-show and we’re getting right to the action with the entrances for our opening contest.

Perry rolled up to the arena earlier today in the Jurassic Express bus with Luchasaurus at the Block Party and grilled up some hot dogs. Early scramble from both, jockeying for position, leading to multiple stalemates. Shibata no sells some chops, flattens Perry with some of his own, until Perry caught him with a boot coming in, but was walloped out of the corner, crashing to the floor into commercial.

Back from break, Perry gained control, took the action to the apron, where Shibata hit a snap suplex, maintaining control to the floor, where Perry was the one to deliver a suplex. Back inside, Shibata rolled through a hurricanrana, tried a PK, but Perry countered into the Snare Trap. Shibata escaped with a succession of kicks, but ran right into a Perry dropkick and Tiger Driver for two. Perry lunged for the Sacrifice Knee, but was turned inside out by a Shibata strike, as it was followed by even more corner chops. Shibata wanted the Rear Naked Choke, but Perry quickly floated back over into a flash pin to steal it.

Winner: Jungle Jack Perry via Pinfall.

Post-match, Perry screamed to the stage for Samoa Joe, but instead got HOOK, Action Andretti & Anthony Bowens. This led to the music for Samoa Joe hitting and out comes the leader of The Opps to a huge ovation. Joe & Perry face-off, with Perry offering a handshake, which Joe brushes off, so Perry refused to let him leave, ordering Joe to shake his hand to the sound of “You F’d Up” chants from the Chicago crowd. Joe violently pie-faced Perry to the mat and let out a scream, marching to the back with his crew, as despite there not being a pull apart, security rushed to the ramp to keep Joe from I guess demolishing Perry?

Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue) vs. Mina Shirakawa & Queen Aminata

Shirakawa hit her slide into a shimmy to mock Hart to start, getting a leg sweep before both tagging in their partners, with Blue getting a hometown pop. She missed Code Blue, Aminata ready to counter with the Chocolate Kisses, which Schiavone said is very effective and Taz said they used to train in the Team Taz Dojo. Shirakawa in, but gets tripped up by Hart, leading to a Blue step-up knee in the corner and DDT to follow, putting the Sisters in control heading to break.

We return with Shirakawa making a hot tag, running wild with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors and shotgun dropkick off the top onto Hart for a near fall. Looking for the Glamourous Driver, Hart flipped out, Blue tags in, but gets ping-ponged by Aminata & Shirakawa forearms. Aminata tags in, as Shirakawa trapped Blue in a Figure-Four, as Aminata hit a double stomp off the top. Hart makes the save, as the match breaks down, with Hart & Blue trying stereo Octopus Holds, with Hart not getting hers and it looking pretty rough, but she ultimately got there. Aminata & Shirakawa hit dueling counter Glamourous Drivers for a double two count. Blue spun out of an Aminata swinging Fisherman’s Suplex, Hart saved her partner from Off with Her Head, as everyone starts trading thrust kicks, until Aminata successfully hits her swinging Fisherman’s Suplex. Hart robbed Aminata from making a tag, driving her into the apron and LED board, as Blue was able to successfully spike Shirakawa with the Code Blue for the victory.

Winner: Sisters of Sin via Pinfall.

Backstage: Mick Foley, Bang Bang Gang

Mick Foley is backstage with the Bang Bang Gang & Coach Juice, who is putting his team through last minute preparations. Foley asks for last minute strategy and this is a full football themed promo from Robinson. Jay White has a football, as Robinson called them the baddest golden gunslingers around. Foley questioned hypothetically, what if he’s not down with that? They hit their go home line, as Foley is amped for the No DQ 8-man up next. I was kind of hoping this would be funnier.

Eight-Man Tailgate Brawl Match
The Dogs (Clark Connors & David Finlay) & Death Riders (Daniel Garcia & Wheeler Yuta) vs. Bang Bang Gang (Jay White, Ace Austin, & The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn))

Full blown football introductions for the heels, as they are either carrying a keg or in football gear. Finlay is from Big Dog Dog-iversity, Garcia is Homeschooled, Connors is Straight Out of Your Girls Crib, Yuta is from Jon Moxley’s Basement and finally Shafir calls Will Ospreay a Lil’ B*tch. (Sadly there’s no appearance from Hingle McCringleberry, yet.) Garcia was ready for Shafir’s slap, as he’s wearing a helmet. Bang Bang Gang is announced and we’re told Robinson headset is getting info from someone in the box. Bell sounds and everyone charges like a football line, as Austin hikes a ball to White to the loud chants of “Green Bay Sucks”, as Finlay keeps getting smacked with the football. Heels gain control outside, we get handoffs and Pounces from The Dogs, until Robinson leap frogged Finlay, but was ultimately wiped out as the heels stood tall into break.

We return with the heels hitting high knees in the corner before smashing White with locomotion splashes. Shafir has a megaphone shouting orders, as Austin is raedy to charge with a football down the ramp and leapfrogs everyone in his path, until Yuta ate a wheel kick. Austin spiked the ball in the ring, leading to a Fosbury Flop onto Yuta & Garcia. The Gunns fire off some double teams, as White went up top with the football, hit the Heisman pose while up there before diving onto a pile. Austin brings the keg into the ring, as Finlay is knocked around by the babyfaces, until Austin hit a Fame-Asser onto the keg and seemed to hurt his own leg in the process. Shafir broke the pin, as Robinson threw his headset off and came into the ring. We get a loud shouting match, as Robinson threw a red flag, but Shafir planted him with a Judo throw. The coaches scrap to the floor, allowing Finlay to waffle Austin with a football helmet for two. The Dogs looked for Full Clip, but Connors was shoved off the top onto a grill set-up ringside.

Match really starts breaking down, as Garcia took a 3:10 to Yuma, as Yuta collided The Gunns into each other for a roll-up for two, but White appeared and spiked Yuta with a Blade Runner to get the pin with 40 seconds remaining on the pre-show.

Winner: Bang Bang Gang via Pinfall.
