Tay Melo AEW & Wrestling Career Future Update – Melo Says She’s Not Retired Yet

As noted before, Tay Melo has been expected to be granted her release from AEW after AEW CEO Tony Khan had confirmed in a media scrum this past July that Melo had asked for her release recently and is expected to be stepping away from her wrestling career. Melo’s future in AEW had been in doubt following her husband and AEW and ROH talent Sammy Guevara removing all mentions of AEW in his Twitter bio that same month.

In a recent response to a fan on Twitter, Melo stated that she is not retired from wrestling yet.

This fan noted that Melo had removed “wrestler” from her bio and assumed this meant that she is retired from wrestling. Melo responded back stating:

“Nope, I haven’t retired yet.”

Melo has been wrestling since April of 2017 and had been with AEW since August of 2020. Melo last wrestled at the June 6th AEW Collision show in a tag team match with Anna Jay against Divine Dominion (Lena Kross & Megan Bayne) for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship.
