Cody Rhodes New WWE Contract Update – Rhodes Had Signed New Five-Year Deal

As noted before, Cody Rhodes had revealed in an episode of the Flagrant podcast earlier this month that he had recently signed a new contract with WWE and he will be ending his wrestling career in WWE. The length of Rhodes’ new contract extension was not revealed at the time.

In an article promoting the upcoming new live action Street Fighter film, The New York Times reported that Rhodes’ new contract with WWE is for five years in length.

“Reigns and Rhodes both said they counted [Dwayne] Johnson and [John] Cena as instrumental in helping their transition. Reigns appeared briefly with Johnson in a 2019 ‘Fast & Furious’ spinoff, a job he took so he could observe how Johnson operated on a set. Rhodes said Cena texted him that he was proud after seeing the AMC Theaters popcorn bucket shaped as Guile’s flattop.

But wrestling is still their day job. Rhodes recently signed a five-year contract extension with W.W.E., and Reigns wrestled at an event in New Orleans two days before the ‘Street Fighter’ premiere in Los Angeles.”

Rhodes portrays the character of Guile in the upcoming new film while Roman Reigns portrays the character of Akuma and NJPW talent Hirooki Goto portrays the character of E. Honda.
