There have been some cuts made in WWE that haven’t been revealed yet. This includes budget cuts in production and travel. Regarding the travel, WWE is no longer providing tour buses for their production crew members (see our original article below). A source in the company thinks that the company will start cutting back on how many people it hires. The cuts will continue as the company gets closer to the next Quarterly Earnings release in late July or early August.
ORIGINAL: On Monday, it was reported that WWE was looking to cut upwards of $20 million from their budget. Besides the talent cuts already made, WWE has also cut production costs by eliminating Fandango’s golden curtain entrance and the lift that Bad News Barrett used. By cutting those items, the company was able to take the truck used to transport those entrances off the road, which saved them about $250,000 a year.
We can now report that WWE has stopped using the tour buses they would provide for production crew members, backstage hands and others. WWE had supplied and paid for the buses and filled them with the crew members to transport them from television taping to television taping. WWE was looking to keep the crew comfortable and content with their jobs.
Following the cutting of the tour buses, the production crew has been told that they will have to drive from city to city for television tapings.
