— There are still only 25 names listed for the Royal Rumble tonight. Drew McIntyre and John Morrison are not among them, although most expect them to be in the match.
— John Morrison did a brief interview with a radio station in Hartford earlier this week in which he said he would be in the Royal Rumble match. He was asked against whom would he cash in his title shot, to which he replied “Shawn Michaels or the Undertaker.”
— A report from a Mickie James autograph signing yesterday said that “…she was awesome. The signing was scheduled from 1-3. Mickie got there a few minutes before 1, and stayed about an hour or so longer then she was advertised. The turn-out was quite large. When I finally met her she was very sweet. She was as personable as she can be under the circumstances of trying to get people in and out quickly. It’s truly amazing how WWE can treat her as they do with the whole Piggy James angle. I for one hope she makes it as a singer as she deserves better. Anyhow I just wanted to pass this along. Mickie seemed truly happy to be there, and it showed!”
— The January 30 episode of WWE Vintage Collection on The Score in Canada featured the 1996 Royal Rumble match.
