— As noted earlier here on the website, it is believed internally that Renee Young will eventually end up on the SmackDown announce team, and may even end up on Raw as well. She has been promoted to the Superstars announce team and even though they have cut back on pre- and post-game shows, she is still going to be doing pre-games for PPVs and possibly RAW.
Despite some speculation that she would possibly leave WWE for ESPN, she has given the impression that she is staying and has some time on her contract.
— UPDATE: WWE SmackDown drew a 1.78 (1.8) cable rating. That’s up 30% from last week’s 1.37 but down 12% from the 2.02 for the July 27th show.
— ORIGINAL: Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown scored 2.54 million viewers and a 0.7 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic. This is a bounce back from the 1.88 million and 0.5 that the previous week did; that show had suffered because it aired on the Fourth of July. It’s worth mentioning that the numbers are still down 15% and two tenths of a point from the June 27th episode, which was the last non-holiday episode.
The household rating will be available later.
