Kurt Angle appeared this morning on Pittsburgh CBS affiliate KDKA this morning discussing a number of different topics to help promote tomorrow’s house show in Indiana, PA.

Angle noted that TNA is doing very well. He said he came to TNA when he decided to “walk away for a little while” from the WWE’s strenuous schedule. He said the wrestlers in TNA go hard and get really physical in the ring.

Angle said that professional wrestling is really hard and difficult. Angle noted that he broke his neck five times – four times while competing as an amateur wrestler and four times as a professional wrestler, which he called “bad luck.” He said he hasn’t had neck issues for years though.

Angle noted he just booked a film with Marisa Tomei and Christopher Walken that he will be shooting next month. He described it as something of a sequel to the 1970s film “Every Which Way But Loose.”

Angle said that his Olympic gold medal was the highlight of his career. This led to a discussion of the death of his former coach David Shultz at the hands of John du Pont, which will be the subject of the feature film “Foxcatcher” later this year. There was also discussion of saving wrestling as an Olympic sport, which he said he only had a small bit to do with.
