IGN interviewed Roman Reigns about SummerSlam and the upcoming WWE 2K15 roster reveal. Here are highlights:
On if he’s excited about the WWE 2K15 roster: “Oh yeah. I mean, I can’t say I’m a full-on gamer since basically I just don’t have time for it. I know nowadays, gaming can be a lot like social media. People just stay on it all day long. Like they’re logged into the Matrix. But yeah, I enjoy it. When I get the time. But I’m looking forward to the announcements at the WWE Confidential panel and seeing the reveal of the roster and checking out the graphics. I know that the thing we’re really hanging our hat on this year is the graphics and how smooth the game plays.”
On his first-ever singles SummerSlam match: “I’m excited, man. It’s a great opportunity to me. I have a really strong opponent in Randy Orton. A former multi-time world champion. He’s held just about every title under the sun. And he’s done it all in a major way. He’s basically wreaked havoc and ran roughshod over the WWE for quite some time. Some people might forget that. Not the Viper part, but that for many years he was running the show. The biggest bad guy in town. So I couldn’t have a better platform and a bigger stepping stone than I have at SummerSlam.”
On the superman punch: “That was just something that happened over time. I’d been hitting that move since the day I started, and now obviously I dress it up a little bit more with the theatrics before it. To send a signal out about what’s happening. But it was just something that I’d used over and over and so it became more about finding the right place for it. And where better than right before a spear?”
