The Helms & Maria WWE Firings, Hogan Note, Trish Stratus Update

— Maria Kanellis had just turned 28 yesterday. Maria’s release is somewhat surprising as she was awarded the Diva of the Year Slammy last year and is set to be on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice this season. She has been vocal in interviews recently about wanting to phase down her involvement in wrestling, so the release may have had something to do with that.

— Shane Helms’ release should come as no surprise obviously.

— You can listen to Hulk Hogan on the St. Louis ESPN radio affiliate yesterday at http://www.101espn.com/ Hogan talks about various topics including TNA’s move to Monday nights, his thoughts on Abyss, Ric Flair, and more.

— CTV in Canada has been doing a segment for the Olympics titled “How Tough Are These Sports” where celebrities try an Olympic sport. Trish Stratus is in one and tried Aerial Skiing. She tried doing a few runs on dry practice slops that have no snow and where you land in water.

— Even though many cable guides are not listing Wrestlicious on MavTV for this Monday, the network has confirmed the “Takedown” series will air at 11PM ET.
