File this one under “whoopsie.” As you know, WWE released the Best of Sting DVD and Blu-ray set today that looks at the legendary Sting’s career that runs from his Mid-South days all the way through through the final episode of WCW Monday Nitro. Of interesting note is the fact that WWE put a picture of the wrong Sting on the back of the set.
No, it’s not the singer or the 18th century Shawnee war chief; it’s Jeff Farmer. As a history lesson for those who may not remember, Farmer was put in the Sting makeup and wrestled as part of the nWo in order to swerve fans and make them think that the Icon may have switched sides. He spent much of 1997 going back and forth between the nWo Japan group in NJPW and the WCW nWo. You can see the picture of the DVD/Blu-Ray back and the corresponding Farmer pic below:
Congratulations, Jeff Farmer for sneaking your way onto the new Sting DVD packaging as the nWo Sting. #mistake? pic.twitter.com/fugDkUx7TL
