UPDATE: Monday’s WWE RAW broadcast drew a 2.63 (2.6) cable rating, with an average of 3.797 million viewers. That is down from the 2.83 (2.8) cable rating the show drew the previous week. For those wondering, the Monday Night Football game drew 13.122 million viewers for ESPN.
ORIGINAL: Last night’s episode of WWE RAW may have been Rock-tastic, but it wasn’t ratings-tastic. The show drew 3.797 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in the all-important 18 – 49 demographic.
While the viewership was down 6%, the demo rating was the real fall. It fell 16% from last week’s 1.43 demo rating and is the lowest demo rating of the year, beating out the 1.23 demo rating that the May 26th episode did. By comparison, the same week last year scored a 1.37 demo rating.
Obviously, The Rock’s appearance shouldn’t be counted as a negative factor here. There was no way for them to get a bump from his name as he wasn’t advertised or promoted during the show. RAW is now up against a very crowded TV lineup as well with Gotham, The Voice, The Blacklist, The Big Bang Theory, Monday Night Football and more competing for eyeballs.
The show’s hourly numbers are as follows:
8 PM: 3.58 million viewers (1.1 demo rating)
9 PM: 3.89 million viewers (1.2 demo rating)
10 PM: 3.92 million viewers (1.3 demo rating)
The final household/cable rating will be available later.
