‘Domino’ Returning To WWE, Melina’s WWE Return, DX Split Update

» Have a great weekend everyone. Be safe if you’re drinking. We’ve got ESPN2’s Friday Night fights tonight and then a HUGE night of fights tomorrow night. On free HBO, we’ve got Devon Alexander vs. Juan Urango (WBC/IBF junior welterweight unification). On free Showtime, we’ve got Vic Darchinyan vs. Rodrigo Guerrero (WBC/WBA junior bantamweight championship). Then also for FREE on the Versus network, we’ve got the WEC event which is headlined by Brian Bowles vs. Dominick Cruz. The card also features Miguel Torres vs. Joseph Benavidez and Jens Pulver vs. Javier Vazquez. That’s a good little card for WEC and a GREAT night of fights (and drinking!) as well. » In light of news of Domino appearing at a recent Florida Championship Wrestling television taping, it has been confirmed that WWE has re-signed the former tag team champion. Though he came out to his former Deuce ‘n Domino entrance music, he performed under his real name of Cliff Compton not to mention it was openly acknowledged that he was Domino as opposed to a newcomer. Compton lost to Justin Gabriel by disqualification after Wade Barrett attacked the FCW Champion. Michael Tarver then hit the ring to attack Barrett. FCW Lieutenant General Manager Norman Smiley then made a tag match involving all four men. Gabriel and Tarver defeated Compton and Barrett after Tarver knocked out Compton and Gabriel pinned him. He was previously released from his WWE contract in August 2008.

» After undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL suffered at a live event in late December, Melina is targeting late spring for her return to the ring.

» For those wondering, DX is done for the time being as they’ve been removed as a unit from the opening RAW montage. Hornswoggle was cut of out the opener as well. His partnership with DX was said to be a last ditch effort to get something out of him as a character though it’s expected they’ll find something new for him considering how over he is with with younger fans.
