It was announced today, via press release, that WWE Studios and Lionsgate will partner again for The Condemned 2: Desert Prey. Roel Reiné (Death Race: Inferno, The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption) will direct, and WWE’s Randy Orton will star. Alan McElroy (The Marine 4: Moving Target) wrote the script. Orton and Reiné previously worked together on 12 Rounds 2: Reloaded. The film will shoot later this year in New Mexico, and follows a former bounty hunter (Orton) who soon finds himself on the run as part of a newly revamped, high-stakes and deadly Condemned tournament.
The Condemned was released back in 2007, with Steve Austin as the star. The film made $8.6 million at the worldwide box office.
