WWE responded to a request for a statement to Prowrestling.net on the potential threat of rioting and violence in St. Louis, Missouri, the host city for Survivor Series 2014, stemming from the upcoming Michael Brown verdict. The event is scheduled for Sunday, November 23.
The threat of violence and riots stems from the pending announcement of the grand jury for the shooting death of Michael Brown at the hands of police officer Darren Wilson. The verdict is not confirmed to be read before the event. However, there is speculation from the media that it could be read as early as tomorrow (Nov. 21).
WWE released the following statement:
“As always, WWE is working closely with the venue to ensure the safety of our fans and performers, and they will keep us abreast of any developments.”
