— Tom Kettwig sent this one: On ABC’s World News Now they air a segment every once in a while called ABC News Vault and this morning they aired a story from March 29, 1985 about the WWE (WWF at the time). The story was about the WWE going big time with clips of Geraldine Ferraro and Gloria Steinem talking about how much they didn’t like Roddy Piper and NBC getting ready to air WWE with comments from Dick Ebersol. There were comments from Bert Sugar. They also showed clips of the “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” video along with Roddy Piper hitting Captain Lou with a platinum record to set up the Wrestlemania main event. They also showed Mr. T helping Hulk Hogan and both of them appearing on Saturday Night Live with Billy Crystal. It was a story that was done right before the first Wrestlemania.
