Current ESPN analyst and former UFC title contender Chael Sonnen noted during a recent appearance on TSN’s “Off The Record” that both he and MMA legend Wanderlei Silva have been invited by WWE to attend their Hall Of Fame induction ceremony during this year’s WrestleMania weekend.
Sonnen told OTR host Michael Landsberg during an appearance this week that he’s unsure if “The Axe Murderer” will accept the invitation to attend, but he will definitely be taking them up on the invitation if they are serious about it.
“I got a call from WWE. They said, ‘Look, we have a Hall of Fame show in March. If you want to come out, we want to talk to you about some stuff.’ They laid out at that.”
Sonnen continued, “If they are buying me a plane ticket and they’re giving me a ticket to the show, I do enjoy that product. I don’t know what we are talking about, but I’ll give you a little bit of a scoop: Wanderlei Silva was also invited. I don’t know if he’s accepted and I don’t know if the two are related, but there you go.”
WrestleMania 31 takes place on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The WWE Hall Of Fame induction ceremony takes place one day earlier, Saturday, March 28th.
