Billy Corgan On Why He Joined TNA, What They Need To Do, More

The Associated Press and Dan Gelston recently spoke with new TNA creative team member Billy Corgan, who discussed his new position with the promotion. \Below are some highlights:

Corgan on why he joined TNA: “I’m not here as celebrity. I’m here as a skilled person that brings a lot of experience to the table… I don’t need fame. I have plenty of fame. It’s really about the talent.”

Corgan on TNA needing stars identified as only TNA stars: “We need stars that are wholly identified with TNA only, and maybe telling the types of stories that maybe have a different edge to them so that people will identify them as TNA-type stories.”

Corgan on needing to take advantage of the social media atmosphere: “If something gets hot and on a roll, people will talk. We have to build a vehicle that will continually provide that opportunity and take advantage of the social media atmosphere. We will win the day if we’re able to move quickly and in a way nobody’s ever tried in the wrestling business.”
