Rocket Monroe (real name Maury High) passed away yesterday. He was hospitalized over the weekend, with a blood infection, but did return home Saturday night. High wrestled as the younger brother of Sputnik Monroe, although they were not related. They worked the Southeast primarily, and High also worked for the AWA. There were actually two Rocket Monroe’s, but High was the more famous of the two.
On behalf of everyone here on the website, I would like to send our condolences along to the family, friends and fans of Maury “Rocket Monroe” High.
