Backstage Update: Hernandez’s TNA Return, Gone From LU?

As you saw last night, Hernandez pulled a “Rick Rude” as he appeared on a taped edition of Lucha Underground and then the almost live edition of TNA iMPACT! Wrestling.

According to sources, MVP had wanted to bring him in as a replacement for Samoa Joe in the BDC and had been pushing hard over the last few months to bring him back to the company. It appears that Lucha Underground has released him; Hernandez has told people that they did not come to terms on a new deal, but Hernandez has been working for the All Elite promotion in Mexico, which is opposition to AAA. That is said to be the reason that they released him.

With Lucha underground being taped through their August 5th Ultima Lucha special, we’ll likely see Hernandez a few times on both shows going forward.
