— Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker mentioned the “possibility” of signing Batista in a radio interview last week. He noted that no deal had been signed.
— Former WWE star Dave Batista has begun a two-day stint with the Cesar Gracie camp based in Lodi, California. The training sessions were reportedly put together by Strikeforce, who are said to still be highly interested in signing the former WWE champion. The Cesar Gracie camp includes numerous big-named fighters such as Jake Shields, Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz, and Gilbert Melendez and is well respected among the MMA community. Gracie recently spoke about Batista’s upcoming training sessions with the camp:
“We’ll see how it goes. If he wants to fight, we’ll get him going. If he wants to fight or not, that’s up to him. People want to come in and train with us, then we’re all for it.”
