WWWF veteran and staple, “Professor” Elliot Maron (pictured in the middle of the Road Warriors), sadly passed away last night in Brooklyn, New York after suffering cardiac arrest. He was said to be his mid-60s. Maron had reportedly been ill for some time and was battling diabetes for many years.
Maron was a staple of the Northeastern pro wrestling scene for decades. He worked in the WWWF for many years and sold programs, worked as a ring attendant, escorted wrestlers to and from the ring, and also transported WWWF TV taping masters from Allentown, PA where the shows were filmed to the WWWF offices in New York. Maron also worked as a ring announcer for some of the company’s smaller shows.
Maron also hosted a pro wrestling radio show on WHBI Radio in New York for many years. He also worked security for Shea Stadium and the Madison Square Garden.
On behalf of everyone here on the website, we send our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Maron.
