In a minor update to yesterday’s story, the man who was shot by police outside the WWE Performance Center on Monday remains in critical condition. CBS News reports that twenty-nine year-old Armando Montalvo is still at the Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was taken to after the shooting.
Montalvo was shot outside the Performance Center after showing up there despite having a restraining order prohibiting him from being on the property. He was reportedly obsessed with someone working at the center, with a report earlier today stating it was WWE alumni and Tough Enough coach Lita. POlice responded to a trespassing call and found Montalvo with a knife; when he charged at them, the officers retreated backwards before finally firing a shot.
The officer who fired, Stephan Wahl, was not injured and has been assigned to non-law enforcement duties for one week per departmental policy.
