As reported yesterday, a meeting was had with the NXT roster at the WWE Performance Center last week which discussed, among other things, clarifications on pay as NXT becomes more prominent as a brand. It was told at that meeting that the roster would not be receiving bonuses based on NXT shows, including the Takeover shows.
Here are some more details on the pay structure. According to sources, while NXT talent aren’t getting bonuses for the shows, some top NXT talent have received contract restructuring over the summer so that they are making six-figure downsides. In addition, when NXT talent works main roster shows they are getting bonuses for those events, just not for the NXT shows.
In reference to how the NXT brand runs at a loss due to the Performance Center being included in those expenses, WWE is providing high-level fitness and nutritional experts for the developmental roster as well as medical staff, professional and financial development help for their future beyond just being a WWE performer and more.
