— According to The Wall Street Journal, Sinclair Broadcasting is in talks to buy the cable network The Tennis Channel. The outlet reports that Sinclair — the parent company of Ring of Honor — is in discussions with the equity firms that own the majority of the network which include Apollo Global Management, Bain Capital Ventures, Battery Ventures, CCMP Capital and Columbia Capital.
According to the story, the owners want over $500 million for the network. The Tennis Channel is available in approximately 35 million homes in the US. Sinclair began its American Sports Network earlier this year which includes coverage of various college sports including baseball and basketball.
